Battle Creek, MI. Shirt Drop
We donated shirts 0 to 0 to children in need here.
"This was a welcome opportunity for me to stop the everyday busyness I can get so easily consumed with, and meet around 200 K-5th graders in Battle Creek who don’t have as much as some do. After spending some time hearing about the new direction of BAN from Kevin, we greeted a long line of students with smiles and high fives, connected with them on a mile long run around the gym and then giving them a t-shirt and telling them how special and cool it was since only one other person in the world had a t-shirt with their number! When the time came to say good-bye, the smiles on their faces and the high fives we got made my day!
Challenging two five year old girls on the run was one of my favorite parts of the day! They were getting tired, so the three of us held hands and ran together as long as their little legs would carry them. Seeing them run farther when given encouragement was yet another reminder to me how important it is to have people come alongside us when we are attempting hard things, and how much easier it is to be successful when one has support."
